Okie’s Law • How do preppers keep from losing their minds?

April 16, 2017 TheHiddenPrepper 0

okay i don’t mean losing their minds in general, what i mean is when shtf what would a prepper do to keep themselves entertained? A few of the ideas of heard are portable dvd players, cd players with audio books or comedy acts recorded, and a few other ideas. But here is my idea, recently i learned that my phone is micro-sd card compatible so i came up with this plan. I am going to put some money into buying 256GB micro-sd cards and filling them with books and movies, i will then spend a few dollars on some solar chargers for my phone. to me this is a almost fool proof plan, I checked the average ebook with 1000 pages is about 20-25MB, which means i could have at the most 12800 books per micro-sd card at at least 10000, i havnt figured out how many Mb’s the average movie but yeah that’s my idea.

Batteries etc… • How do battery banks work?

April 6, 2017 TheHiddenPrepper 0

Okay I’ve been wondering this, if I get a ton of battery banks and put them all in a room in an underground bunker, I then power them all with solar panels, will I be able to just store the energy indefinitely? This may seem like a dumb question but I’m serious, I just saw a video on the Tesla Powerwall and I am just imagining a room full of Tesla Powerwalls powered by water wheel generators and solar panels. I guess my question is would this work? Bugging in a bunker with solar panels and battery banks and water wheels.

Construction Cornerstone • Hide in plain sight OR Wall around home

April 4, 2017 TheHiddenPrepper 0

Okay this is a big debate between a few preppers I know, is it better to build an underground bunker hidden in the woods or is it better to build walls around a home and protect it.
For the hidden bunker there are traps everywhere, spike falls, tripwire shotguns, etc.
For the home with walls, the walls are made of concrete poured into cinder blocks, steel tread plates on the wall, and spikes/ barbed wire.
This may seem like something that would never happen, but just theoretically, which would be better?
