I am figuring the amp hours out. So each battery is 12amp/hr and I have 12 batteries in the cart. Now that it is built, I plan to slowly change the batteries to deep cycle marine batteries, but for now it’s great. If I had to do it from scratch, I wou…

Solar • Homemade Solar Cart

I came up with this idea after a friend gave me two B/P 40watt solar panel and a 800 watt AC converter. I wanted to build something portable so I decided to build it on a wagon. I managed to score 14 batteries (12 volt Lithium 12amp/hr) from the GE guy who came to the hospital to change the batteries in our x-ray room. The 20amp controller has usb ports for charging devices, and the whole thing took about seven hours to build. Works great for a small, portable, solar wagon!

I like Luci Lights, collapsable, last four hours, and multiple light settings. All for about $15-20 dollars. Another item I have been impressed with is the Solar King Pro. It has a small solar paenl, three light settings, and will charge handheld devices. Cost about 45.00 dollars off Amazon.

Morning all, i just finished a book called The Great Influenza about the outbreak of 1918. Great scary book especially the last chapters on the chances of a pandemic today. Makes me prep harder for an outbreak.
