Other weapons • Re: Country Weapons vs City Weapons

September 20, 2017 apache235 0

At one of my med classes a pork shoulder was shot with a 9mm, a .223 and a 12ga slug. The 9mm and the 12ga both penetrated, the .223 did not. The wound channel on the 9mm was, well, 9mm or a little bigger, the .223 had a cavity you could fit your fist into with a tiny entrance hole, the 12ga was awesome. All shots were from about 2′. Also, most people that practice martial arts would get killed in a street fight.

Terrorism & other Man made disasters • Re: EMPs & Automobiles

July 21, 2017 apache235 0

Actually the EMP has three components E1, E2 & E3 and hostile military forces are/have developed a super EMP that may run as high as 200,000 volts/meter. I would think that anything that has a computer chip in it would be toast unless protected by a very robust Faraday cage.

Not sure why they are talking about a revolver, but whatever. I guess my feelings are, if you need the accuracy, dump it and use two hands, if you need to move, duck and grab rifle then git. If things are really close and you need to move, hold on to the rifle and use one hand on the pistol and move. Leaving your primary weapon (unless totally broken) doesn’t make much sense to me.

Matt, my comment on bodies would be from a health standpoint that leaving them to rot by the wayside might not be tactically or medically sound. I guess it depends on how many and what critters might enjoy the free food. Second, that app at the end of your comment scares the crap out of me.

I’m all for gun control – start with the absolute prohibition of ANY Democrat owning or being in close proximity to ANY firearm or explosive, I’m sure the left will agree with that. s/o

HAM Radio Open Discussions • Re: Amateur Radio License

May 30, 2017 apache235 0

Actually the first two tests are 35 questions each, of which you must answer 26 correctly. That would be for the Technician license and the General license. The Extra license is a 50 question test and you need a 70% to pass or 35 questions right.

We are only the power if we are an educated populace. As of now, I’d guess the average American young adult has no clue about civics, history or economics. So much for being well educated and therefor they will never vote out the power hungry. I’m sorely afraid that the solution will be a watering of the tree, or we will slip quietly into slavery with nary a whimper, only a “where’s mine?”

In a word, No. In several words, I can see some merit to it, but if you are being threatened then lethal force is justified, and if you are being attacked, then lethal force is necessary.

Hydrocarbon fuels • Re: Diesel powered vehicles during an EMP strike

April 11, 2017 apache235 0

My Piper Apache 235 had zero electronics on the engines, my GPS would be fried but everything else would have worked (sold it 10 years ago) as for driving, if you vehicle doesn’t have electronics on it you should be all set, but how many of us drive such a vehicle? My Dodge Power Wagon with an all mechanical diesel and no electronic anything except the radio should work. The alternator and/or starter could possible fry, but that truck will run without a battery so I’m not too worried.

I got a case of 5000 for $145 less than 10 years ago. I’d love to see that again but with the falling value of the dollar probably not. Just one more indicator that our ruling elite don’t know what they are doing, or if they do then they are truly evil.

How To Start Prepping (The Basics) • Re: 4 questions to reveal your level of preparedness

March 22, 2017 apache235 0

I haven’t hard mention of any BOV’s yet. Under most conditions you can drive (if the roads will allow) to where ever. If there’s an EMP or you are late in leaving a massive civil disturbance how are you going to get to point B? Homesteaders don’t count, you are already there, for the rest of us we will need to move somehow.

Guns • Re: Mil, MOA or inches?

March 21, 2017 apache235 0

Pick which one you like (and understand) and stick with it. It’s handy to know them all but for sure know the one that is on your scope. I like MOA, but that’s what I grew up with. The kids today learn mils and that works too. The hold x inches is a little tougher with mils than with MOA but it is doable.
