APN Getting Started In Preparedness Columnist
Alex Newton was born in Kentucky in 1975. He currently resides in Indiana with his wife, Sara, and three children. Alex works as an IT professional in the Chicago area and realized the need for emergency planning and preparation while working downtown during the pandemonium that followed the terrorist attacks on September 11th , 2001.
Alex enjoys speaking to people and teaching them about the need for emergency planning and preparation. To aid with this instruction he has published his first book, “Plan and Prep: Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse” which follows a family through several emergency and disaster situations, culminating in a “worst case scenario” event, a zombie apocalypse. Although the event is clearly fictional, it is a good way to grab the attention of the reader, and it can be quite entertaining.
Alex likes to spend his spare time with his family or writing and prepping.
